" In January 2008, Amanda and I engaged Trueline construction to undertake the demolition and subsequent reconstruction of our kitchen, dinning and family areas. After nearly five months of continuous activity we have only good things to say about Trueline and the people they engaged. Never having worked with either James or Scott we were very pleased with flexibility they showed in the form contract we wished to sign up to. James managed the day to day activities and was on site virtually full time. His foreman and lead carpenters were all extremely able and professional and when necessary, assumed full responsibility. The attention to detail and quality of the workmanship was of a very high standard. Many people have, unprompted, confirmed this to us in private including some of the building inspectors and non-associated independent building contractors! James and all his team were always sensitive to our wishes and sought input from us where appropriate. To his and his team’s credit they accepted input from us even if it meant that some work had to re-done; James did not take offence or attempt to charge for variations where the additional work was minor. The site was kept clean and tidy. After having left the site Trueline have been quick to return to finish off any small carpentry items that were left awaiting the installation of the kitchen. The Trueline preferred subcontractors were also a joy to work with. They were arrived onsite at the appropriate time and executed the work professionally. We did not lose even one day due to non-availability of subcontractors. All our council inspections went smoothly with no material additional work being required as a result of an inspection. We are still not ready to seek final certification, there is some landscaping work that must be completed first, but I am refreshed by the fact that James wants to return on the day of the final inspection to witness first hand any matters raised by the inspector. As we chose not to engage an architect to manage our renovation we relied strongly on Trueline’s ability to act professionally, be flexible to our needs, yet perform the work as specified in the detailed drawings and if necessary seek clarifying detail to ensure the work conforms to the required standards.
